Iğdır
Resting in a broad and fertile plain at the foot of the great snow-capped cone of Mount Ağrı — the highest peak in Türkiye and the legendary resting place of Noah's Ark — Iğdır is a city of extraordinary natural grandeur and surprising historical depth. Its mild microclimate nurtures pomegranate orchards and cotton fields that seem almost Mediterranean against the backdrop of eternal snow, while its position on the ancient Silk Road has left a rich legacy of Seljuk caravanserais, Urartu fortresses, and Karakoyunlu stone monuments. From the shimmering salt caves of Tuzluca to the wild meadows of Korhan Plateau, and from the sweeping banks of the Aras River to the rainbow-coloured hills of Gökkuşağı Tepeleri, Iğdır is a destination of rare and quietly spectacular beauty.
Iğdır's Historical Landmarks
